Some funds do not tell us who sent the money, so let us know if you would like a thank-you.

Most big employers will match what you give, often dollar for dollar. It is the easiest way to double a donation and most of it goes unclaimed every year.

Look us up in your company’s giving tool — Benevity, Bright Funds, YourCause, Millie, or whatever they use — under Center for Land Economics, Inc. or EIN 39-3672325. If we are not listed, tell us which tool your company uses and we will get added.

If you own stock that has gone up in value, giving the shares themselves is usually better than selling them and giving the cash. You get credit for what they are worth today and nobody pays tax on the gain.

This works for shares in public companies and, with a bit more paperwork, for shares in companies that have not gone public yet.
